Back in 1998, I started studying real estate at the age of 17 and then began my real estate career as a home loan consultant at 20 years old, helping home buyers obtain financing to buy new homes and homeowners to refinance their current mortgages.

 

I enjoyed being on the financial side of real estate, but I had the urge to get out from behind the desk.  With my real estate finance experience and having studied real estate at a young age, I had a fantastic knowledge base as I earned my Real Estate Broker’s License in 2004 and transitioned into helping those same clients buy and sell their residential real estate.

From 2004 – 2009 with my hands-on knowledge and experience of how real estate financing worked, I was able to help my clients buy and sell real estate with a higher level of expertise and competency than most other Realtors in the marketplace.

HELPING 600+ SELLERS & BUYERS

For my home buying clients, I was able to help them structure their home purchases most advantageously, from a personal finance and investment standpoint.  For my home selling clients, I was able to weed out offers from potential home buyers who were unable to financially purchase my client’s homes from those buyers that I knew had a strong financial base to follow through on the purchase.  This saved my home selling clients from wasting weeks and months on home buyers who ultimately couldn’t follow through on the purchase.

By working with over 600 home buyers and sellers during these 5 years, I knew exactly what buyers wanted to see when they stepped inside a house.  I understood what caused them to make an offer and what made them walk back out the door in the first 60 seconds.

Being able to tell my home selling clients the exact steps we needed to take to sell their home in the shortest period of time and for the highest price was a direct result of having spent time working with so many different home buyers.

In 2009, after gaining the required experience and education according to WA State licensing laws (above and beyond being a regular Real Estate Agent), I decided to open my real estate brokerage, Shiloh Street Real Estate.

 

A driving factor in that decision was that I didn’t see many Realtors who were truly 100% on their client’s side.  Instead, I saw many who were focused on and trained in high-pressure sales tactics to manipulate people into buying and selling their homes and who were concerned only with getting a commission check. I always helped my clients by giving them real advice they could trust without the games they would get from other Realtors, and I wanted to create and be in control of a company that was founded on those principles. And that’s why I started Shiloh Street Real Estate in 2009.

My teams and I have helped our clients buy & sell millions worth of real estate in King and Snohomish County.  We've helped clients in all price ranges; from $50,000 condos up to multi-million dollar homes. I don’t say this to brag, but to demonstrate that we have a solid track record and valuable experience over the years that gives us the expertise needed to help you buy or sell your home confidently and profitably.

Jaime Holthuysen

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. I have a great appreciation for the culture, diversity, and beauty of this area. Prior to entering real estate, I taught social science at universities and colleges in Arizona and Washington State. I loved being in a position to help students achieve their goals and support them in all their endeavors. I bring this passion to advocate for others to my career in real estate.

 

I have a PhD in anthropology, the study of humanity, which means I have a unique perspective into human motivation and behavior. This is an ideal foundation for dealing with the complexities of selling and buying homes. In this industry, it is essential to communicate effectively with clients and throughout the negotiation process.  My time in academia has taught me to be extremely conscientious, detail-oriented and committed to success.  

 

I take a dedicated, client-centered approach. I listen to each client’s specific wants and needs, because their interests always come first. I have a sincere enthusiasm for helping people to achieve their dreams. I consider it my privilege when others put their trust in me.

 

Outside of real estate, my passions include trying new cuisines, surfing and Latin dance. I developed a love for all things salsa and bachata while working on archaeological excavations and travelling throughout Central America.

As a proud Northwest native with 10 years of experience in the housing industry, my diversity of roles in that time has uniquely equipped me to serve my clients in a multitude of ways.  Having behind the scenes involvement with the home building and design process, I have the ability to both anticipate homeowners’ various needs and positively advocate for their desires; all while grounding my process with a practical boots-on-the-ground knowledge that ensures a smooth transaction from start to close; ultimately leaving more money in your hands and peace in your mind.

 

My great-grandfather settled in Seattle in the early 1900s, building his family’s home with his own two hands.  Now, over a century later, I am invested in that same dream- a vision of growth that is solid and meaningful for the people and communities of this place I’m fortunate enough to call home.

 

Regardless of where you are in your own home ownership path, whether buying or selling, I will bring to the table my integrity, hard work and humility because I understand the hopes and dreams that go into making homeownership a reality; as well as the bittersweet nature of leaving behind a household of memories as you move on to your next great adventure. I consider it my great privilege to serve you on that journey! 

 

Outside of my professional world, my husband, two kiddos, and our sweet pup Pippa are the reason I wake up grateful every morning.  You’ll often find me cheering at a softball game or a tennis match, fulfilling my duties as an embarrassing and proud mom!
